Saskia is the Executive Director and Founder of the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists (ACSS), www.sanctionsassociation.org

ACSS is the leading sanctions and export controls association delivering best-in-class training, offering the CSS credential and fostering a dynamic, global community of sanctions and export controls professionals.

ACSS has 1600+ members in over 60 countries, chapters in 7 countries, and provides certification and training on sanctions and export controls to global businesses and financial institutions.

Saskia is a Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS) and an industry leader in financial crime topics, with over 20 years of Sanctions/AML experience in the U.S., Latin America and Europe. Her global footprint enables Saskia to apply valuable expertise and insight into international training and financial crime compliance projects.

Since 2023, she is the lead training coordinator for the EU Commission Capacity Building Project for Third Countries on EU Russia/Belarus Sanctions and Anti-Circumvention.

She earned law degrees from Leiden University (Netherlands) and Universidad La Católica (Lima, Peru), and was admitted to the Lima Bar Association. She also holds an international MBA from Florida International University. She speaks fluent Dutch, English and Spanish, as well as basic German.

One of the topics she would cover at DIGI PAY will be the new European Banking Authority (EBA) guidelines for crypto companies related to sanctions screening, which go into effect end of year.

She is Dutch and based in the Netherlands.
